Urca e Sugar Loaf

Take a cable car up to the dugar loaf mountain and enjoy the view

Urca is a neighbourhood of Rio de Janeiro and a very important tourist attraction. The Sugar Loaf mountain is located in Urca and this 396-meter-high monolith can be visited by a cable car that starts from the ground station at the base of Morro da Urca every 20 minutes.

The first cable car will bring you from the ground station to Morro de Urca and the second cable car will take you from Morro de Urca to the peak of Sugar Loaf mountain.

If you prefer to make the climb yourself rather than take a cable car all the way, you can make the hike to the Morro da Urca station via the path Claudio Coutinho which is located at Praia Vermelha.
