Marken

Marken

Marken is still a typical Dutch peninsula that travels back in time to old Dutch glory that isn't found anywhere else.

The inhabitants of this island, who lived from fishing, have been isolated from the mainland for centuries. It was not until 1957 that the island of Marken was reconnected to the mainland through a dike. Because the island has been separated from the mainland for so long, it has an authentic and individual character and the inhabitants still keep their old traditions alive. Complete a visit to Marken and the Markermeer by making a stop at the 'paard van marken'. The idyllic lighthouse from 1839.

Circle above world-famous Dutch cultural attractions such as Zaandam, Volendam, Monnickendam and Marken with this tour. As we approach the Zaan region from a distance, the slowly turning sails of the ""De Zaanse Schans"" mills are already visible in the distance, with extensive meadows in the background. On the way back we fly over the IJ with a spectacular view over the historic city centre of Amsterdam. This tour adds an unforgettable experience to any trip and flies over locations that have brought the Netherlands fame and fortune.
