Muiderslot

The Muiderslot is one of the best-known, best-preserved and most picturesque medieval castles in the Netherlands.

This fortress at the mouth of the River Vecht was built around 1280 by Count Floris V. Soon thereafter, in 1296, the castle was destroyed by Bishop Willem van Mechelen. In 1380, a new castle was built on the ruins of the old one. The castle is in perfect condition now, some 600 years later. To travel back to medieval times and explore, come and visit Muiderslot castle. Discover the castle’s collection of armour, weapons and utensils from the 13th century, as well as a beautiful collection of paintings from the Dutch Golden Age.

The result may be that air traffic control adjusts our route and that Amsterdam is at a greater distance than initially expected.
