The port of Vlissingen is one of the largest ports in the Netherlands and together with the port of Terneuzen it forms the heart of the port area.

This is because these two ports are located on opposite sides of the Western Scheldt and each has its own specialities. The port of Vlissingen port is praised for its fast handling and good connection to the waterway network behind it. In addition, this port is well connected with Rotterdam and Antwerp, which also brings advantages. The port is 16.5 meters deep and has a harbour entrance of no less than 350 meters wide that gives direct access to the North Sea and the Western Scheldt, which makes the port particularly attractive for the offshore industry.
