Tulips from Holland are world-famous and a must-see when they are in bloom!
The best time to visit the Dutch tulip fields is in the months of April and May. This is the same period in which the biggest flower park in the world opens its doors. Keukenhof Gardens is well known as the Garden of Europe, it is one of the most popular flowers and tulip gardens in Europe or in fact, the world. In 1949 a group of 20 leading flower bulb growers and exporters came up with the plan to use the Keukenhof estate to exhibit spring-flowering bulbs, signalling the birth of Keukenhof as a spring park. The park opened its gates to the public in 1950 and was an instant success, with 236,000 visitors in the first year alone. Located in Lisse the Keukenhof is only open for a few weeks from the month of March to May to display the beautiful flower fields to the public.
