Kurhaus

Kurhaus

The history of the Kurhaus starts in 1818.

In that year the Scheveningen Jan Pronk decided to build a bathhouse on the beach where spa guests who came to the beach to enjoy the healthy seawater and sea air could also use warm water and cold water baths. It became such a success that in the following years the bathhouse expanded more and more until in 1884 plans were made for a grand hotel. A year, later the Kurhaus had arisen. Today, the historic ambience is still notable throughout the hotel. The Kurhaus is without a doubt the most beautiful building in Scheveningen.

Holland is well-known for its beautiful coast, dunes and splendid beaches. In this tour, we fly along the coastline from Hoek van Holland towards Scheveningen. Here you will see the Kurhaus from up above – without a doubt the most beautiful building in Scheveningen. We combine this tour with the nice patchwork of the greenhouses of Westland, which is one of the biggest Dutch exporters of tomatoes and other vegetables.
