Westland

Westland

Westland is a municipality in the province of South Holland and has about 112,000 inhabitants.

The Westland region is best known for the orange glow that is visible in the evenings. This glow comes from the many greenhouses in the region. In addition, this municipality falls under the same region as Rotterdam and The Hague. The dune area between Kijkduin and Monster, the Solleveld, is a protected nature reserve that is home to various species of birds, the natterjack toad, the sand lizard and a herd of wild horses.

Holland is well-known for its beautiful coast, dunes and splendid beaches. In this tour, we fly along the coastline from Hoek van Holland towards Scheveningen. Here you will see the Kurhaus from up above – without a doubt the most beautiful building in Scheveningen. We combine this tour with the nice patchwork of the greenhouses of Westland, which is one of the biggest Dutch exporters of tomatoes and other vegetables.
