Gansbaai is a small town located in the Western Cape province of South Africa, about two hours drive from Cape Town. It is known for its rugged coastline and abundance of marine life, particularly the Great White Sharks that can often be spotted in the waters off the coast. The town is also home to the Dyer Island Nature Reserve, which is home to a variety of bird species and seals. In addition to shark cage diving, Gansbaai is also a popular destination for whale watching, as the town is located in the heart of the Whale Coast. Other outdoor activities in the area include hiking, fishing, and boat tours. The town is surrounded by beautiful fynbos (a type of indigenous flora) and offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.
