Authentic Heritage Camp

Authentic Heritage Camp

An authentic camp experience you shouldn't miss.

The early people of Dubai lived a simple and nomadic lifestyle, often moving from place to place in search of water and food. They would set up temporary camps in the desert, using tents made of animal skins or palm fronds to shelter themselves from the scorching sun and sandstorms. These camps were known as barastis and were built using natural materials found in the desert, such as rocks and mud.

The early people of Dubai were skilled hunters and fishers, and would often rely on these activities to provide for their families. They were also skilled farmers, growing crops such as dates, vegetables, and grains in the fertile soil along the coast.

Despite the harsh conditions, the early people of Dubai were a resilient and resourceful community. They worked together to overcome the challenges of living in the desert, and their traditions and customs were deeply rooted in their nomadic way of life. Today, Dubai is a modern and bustling city, but the legacy of its early inhabitants can still be seen in the traditional markets, cultural festivals, and local customs that are an integral part of the city's identity.
